Workshop Industry 4.0 - with Big Data to Smart Factory

MES software solutions as an enabler for Industry 4.0

For many companies, the transition to Industry 4.0 is a major challenge. But what does Industry 4.0 actually mean in practice? And what benefits can be expected?

The initial situation is often as follows: The collected production data are intransparent, incomplete and make a continuous improvement process difficult. The documentation of production processes is complex and error-prone. The lack of availability of usable data makes an effective communication channel difficult - both within the company and across departments.

The Industry 4.0 Workshop of iMes Solutions Gmbh starts exactly here. Together with you we identify fields of action in your company and prepare you for the tasks and requirements that Industry 4.0 brings along.

Recognize and use the chances of Industry 4.0 - for more transparency, plant security and plant availability in your company.

In dialogue with our MES experts, you will recognize the potential for optimization in your production.
With our MES software solution Plant Historian, your production will become more transparent, more efficient and a safe investment  .

Here you can read our current success story "Industry 4.0 - Extracting information from Data". (available only in German)

Benefits

  • Identification of optimization potentials
  • Solution-oriented communication exchange
  • Transparent design of the manufacturing processes
  • Investment protection
  • Plant safety / security
  • Continuous improvement of internal workflows

Agenda

  • What does Industry 4.0 actually mean in practice?
  • What advantages result from the application of Industry 4.0 solutions?
  • What role do MES software solutions play for Industry 4.0?
  • Where and why do losses occur?
  • What are the cost drivers in production?
  • Resource- and time-saving production processes with MES software solutions with regard to Industry 4.0
  • Challenges and opportunities for companies (quality, availability, performance)
  • Identification of fields of action

The 1-day Industry 4.0 workshop can also be extended depending on customer requirements.

Alarm Management according to ISA 18.2, NAMUR and EEMUA 191

Due to the increasing number of alarms and the resulting dangers for man, environment and machine, it is necessary to deal with the topic of alarm management in more detail.

In the offered workshop, we identify the problems and work out measures to reduce the number of alarms together with you. In order to do justice to the topic of alarm management systems in the long term, we offer you our Plant Historian AM - Alarm Management - solution.

The MES software module Plant Historian AM - Alarm Management - increases plant availability and safety. Quality and quantity of production can be increased.

Benefits

  • Alarm reduction
  • Relief of the plant personnel
  • Faster reaction and error avoidance due to procedural instructions and personalized alerting
  • More safety on the plant e.g. shorter information paths and provision of information
  • Recognition of bad operational processes enables the optimization of production processes

Alarm management helps to maintain or improve security, increase availability and optimize production processes.

We recently started offering mobile application development as support for our MES software module Plant Historian AM .

Questions

Questions dealt with in this workshop:

  • How many alarms do you have per day / per employee / per hour?
  • Is plant safety always guaranteed in the event of an alarm flood?
  • How much time do your employees spend processing unnecessary alarms and messages?
  • Can the plant operation be optimized?
  • Are chattering alarms detected early?
  • How many alarms occur during normal operation or in case of plant malfunctions?
  • Do the plant operators know how to react to alarms?

Agenda

Before you start thinking about the introduction, you should clarify some basic aspects and questions:

  • Why is Alarm Management beneficial?
  • What is an alarm management system?
  • Comparison of the number of alarms: In the past vs. today
  • What are the risks of not using systematic alarm management?
  • Guidelines and standards: Reporting of KPIs according to ISA 18.2, NAMUR NA 102 and EEMUA 191

Increase of Productivity with OEE

Plant losses due to downtimes or too long set-up times, as well as unused efficiencies offer great potential.

In order to be able to make use of this potential, it is necessary to identify, analyse and finally reduce availability, performance and quality losses - the determination of the so-called Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).

The OEE is suitable as a KPI to monitor and analyse the utilisation or performance of a plant.

Benefits

  • Productivity optimization of the plants
  • Relief of the plant personnel
  • Prevention of quality losses
  • Transparent Design of the manufacturing processes
  • Continuous improvement of internal workflows

Agenda

  • Sustainable production optimization with the help of OEE
  • Application areas
  • OEE calculation
  • OEE analysis
  • Reporting
  • Introduction to the MDE and OEE software of iMes Solutions - Plant Historian OEE - Overall Equipment Effectiveness
  • Case Study: Measures to increase the overall plant effectiveness
  • What should be considered when introducing OEE in business practice
